We have talked with our guide and travel expert Maxim Bogatyrev to advice our climbers acclimatization program during the expedition to Muztagh Ata peak.
The expedition to Muztagh Ata takes 25 days and starts from Bishkek. You will have 15 days to climb the mountain.
Acclimatization program for Muztagh Ata Peak 7546m.
Day 1. After Naryn and Kashagar you will arrive to Subashi (3700m). Overnight.
Day 2. Next day trekking to the Base Camp (4400m). All bags are moved on camels. You will walk 12 km. Overnight at the Base Camp in tents.
Day 3. It is recommended to make this day very active hike up to 5200-5400m (Camp 1). You can take some of your staff to C1 (food, tent, gas or something else). And then return to the Base Camp for overnight.
Day 4. Ascent to Camp 1 and overnight there (5200m).
Day 5. If you feel good you can make ascent to 6000m. And then return to the Base Camp (4400m) and spend the night there. If you do not feel good make a descent to the Base Camp (4400m) for recreation without acclimatization at 6000. And spend 2 days there.
Day 6. Ascent to C1 (5200m). It will take you 2-3 hours.
Day 7. Ascent to C2 (6000m). Overnight there.
Day 8. Descent to the Base Camp. Overnight there.
Day 9. Rest and recreation at the Base Camp.
Day 10. If you feel good it is possible to make ascent up to 6000m and spend the night there. Another option stay for the night and C2 (5200m).
Day 11. Ascent to C3 6700-6900.
Day 12. Ascent to the summit and return to C3 for the night. If you have enough power and the weather is fine you can return to C2 at 6000m.
Day 13. Descent to the Base Camp.
Day 14, 15 for the bad weather and recreation at the Base Camp.
